If you are dealing with a temporary power outage or fighting a major natural disaster, you still need to be able to see in an emergency. If you are dealing with a camping trip or exploring caves you still need to be able to see. That said, any old flashlight will not suffice. That is why we are strongly recommending the latest military grade 1800 lumen LED flashlight.
To test this ourselves we charged the light up with USB, then at various points could measure to determine practical, useful beam distance. The testers took it out to the edge of our lake which is at least one mile in diameter. The beam from this flashlight was so strong it could easily detect the wall of a house on the farthest distance from where we were. You could use the flashlight to search for trees on a rural property you will find how clearly you can see individual branches illuminated at distances of 100 to 150 yards away.
On a straight section of road with no traffic lights, you will find you can identify the outlines of shapes like trees, bushes, and buildings at a distance of 1500 yards. It was our impression that reflective signs, lines on the road, and the road itself reflected light that might have extended beam distance.
It is interesting to note, that if you test in a somewhat rural area, where there are houses within reach of the powerful beam of light it could light up their property. While directing the light at various objects, you will quickly realize you must take care to avoid shining it on houses and windows otherwise someone may think that you were up to no good. That is how powerful this light is.
The greatest thing about this flashlight is the fact it is bright LED beam 1800 lumens and long battery life which means you will have reliability for long periods.
The fact you can charge it with USB is terrific as well. Above all, the size is small and with such a powerful punch in beam intensity, it can also fit into a pocket or small bag.
